Darren Scotland was contacted in order to gain a basis as to what to establish within my physical branding. Some of the most influential information has been outlined below.

Curriculum vitae
  • communicate your name
  • contact details
  • a BRIEF indication of your work history and/or educational accomplishments
  • a line or two about yourself to inject a bit of personality.
  • Implement your cv into your portfolio (first page)

Portfolio
  • As well as a digital version, a physical version should be completed
  • work should be outlined on a personal website
  • 'if in doubt, leave them out'
  • two portfolios-one mini-one extended
  • commercial work at the front and centre should help you cover all the core things your hirer is looking for as early possible (concept, layout, typography etc).
  • the second part of your portfolio to show off some added extras, the quirkier pieces that’ll get across what you bring to the party that others may not.

Interviews
  • prepare-research the company
  • research industry news
  • who are there competitors?
  • ask about training/what skills you can pick up from the role?

Summary

The session with Darren offered an in-depth knowledge into the industry, highlighting key needs in which must be made to provide professional engagement.
